ART PRINTS by TERRY BARRETT
I begin with a blank surface, not visualizing or imagining much of what may come, add a grid of squares with a pencil, sometimes colored pencils, and then choose or mix a color of acrylic paint, make a first small shape on the surface, look at it, and then respond with another shape. Sometimes the additions come rapidly, within an hour, and other times by the day. All marks except the first mark are in response to a prior mark. Sometime awakening in the night, I see the next shapes that I will add.
The images shown below are pigment prints on archival paper. I first made the images by drawing and painting on paper or canvas, and then digitized for further alterations. Each print is one in a small edition, signed on the back. All of the prints, 15 x 15 inches, are available for purchase. To inquire about non-standard sizes and adjusted pricing, please contact me.

001. Deep Within, pigment print on archival paper, 15 x 15 inches, 2009.
I made this image when first undergoing chemotherapy for late-stage lymphoma cancer. I did not know if I would survive but was hopeful, meditating positively on the cellular treatment within me that I could not see but believed.

002. Matisse in a Grid, pigment print on archival paper, 15 x 15 inches, 2010.
This is the busiest print in this series. I tried for as much chaos as I could get while maintaining enough order so that I could enjoy the spectacle without becoming overwhelmed by it—like life sometimes is.

003. Underwater Bliss, pigment print on archival paper, 15 x 15 inches, 2010.
I see a thriving community of creatures joyfully interacting with one another and their environment in the depths of crystal clear water.
